Warehouse/FLT operative

Location: Wednesbury

Rate: £ 11.35 p/h

Job Purpose

Supporting the CHD operations team to ensure the safe, smooth and efficient daily running of the CHD warehouse operation and safe loading of vehicles to assist in reducing errors and avoidable cost to the business.

To contribute to driving operational excellence and continuously improvement for our customer experience. You’ll be trusted, encouraged, and motivated to create a long-term strategy that not only delivers performance improvement but long-term cost-efficient changes.

The role will be based over the hours of 0800-1630 Monday to Friday.

Key Duties and responsibilities

General awareness and H&S responsibility is expected from all staff within The Cotswold Company.
· Focus on assisting the department with reducing damage and errors within company requirement.

· Championing the Company’s values - leading by example

Working with the senior site management team to support other areas of the operation, being flexible with resource.
Monitoring product standards and implementing quality control initiatives throughout the operation.
Ensuring that agency workers are consistently managed in line with Company standards and procedures.
Be responsible for ensuring all internal and external service levels are maintained including inbound and outbound operations.
Supporting and leading all relevant business and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Vehicles to be unloaded and any returned stock processed correctly according to department processes

· Safe Loading of vehicles ready for driver shift start in the morning.

· Reporting discrepancies in a timely and correct manner

· Checking of stock inbound prior to loading – checking for accuracy, cleanliness and damages.

· ensuring all orders and delivery routes are organised, loaded, and checked in a timely manner.

· organise CHD stock once received from the warehouse ready for loading.

Ensuring all relevant processes are completed for the team.
Promote and maintain high levels of housekeeping.

Person Specification

Essential qualities and behaviours we’re looking for

· Good communicator who can positively engage with team members and relevant stakeholders.

· Must be able to lead by example and champion the values of the Company.

· Must have good attention to detail and a passion to reduce errors and improve efficiency.

· Know what good looks like and have an aptitude to enabling and developing others and using technology successfully.

· Passionate and driven, constantly looking at what and how improvements can be made.

· Vehicle loading experience

· Systems and process driven.

Qualifications, skills, and experience

Essential

Full clean UK driving licence for at least 12 months- ESSENTIAL

Ideally previous experience within Furniture sector and home delivery.

Minimum 3 years’ Experience in warehouse environments

Ability to work on own initiative

A positive leader

Vehicle loading experience

FLT/REACH licences - ESSENTIAL

Desirable

Experience driving larger vans (Luton/Lo Loader etc)

QC experience ideal

IT Skills; Excel, word etc

H&S Awareness

Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm
