Location: Selby
Rate: £ 23,000 p/a
We are recruiting on behalf of a national parcel delivery company based in Selby for 7.5t delivery driver, on an ongoing basis.
Hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 0800-1630.
Applicants must have a valid 7.5t licence, CPC and digital tachograph card to apply.
This role is available to start immediately.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a 7.5-tonne vehicle to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items
- Plan routes and follow delivery schedules to ensure timely and efficient deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safety and roadworthiness
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with the appropriate category for operating a 7.5-tonne vehicle
- In date CPC and digi tacho card
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably as a delivery driver
- Familiarity with flatbed trucks is a plus
- Excellent driving skills with a strong focus on safety and adherence to traffic laws
- Ability to navigate using GPS or other navigation systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
- Physical stamina to handle loading and unloading of cargo
- Good communication skills to interact with customers in a professional manner
